Default Prompt: Creative Awakenings Transformation Cards

Back in January this year, and over at a different forum, our very own Evelyn (aka finecraft) introduced us to this fabulous book:

(here is Sheri's blog if you'd like a closer look: http://sherigaynor.typepad.com/creativeawakenings/)

Those who have their copies of Altered Hearts handy will recognise it from the interview that Evelyn wrote (pages 16-21).

I know many of you have enjoyed the past prompts, given by Evelyn and by Karen Johnson, and so we bring them to you here. I'm going to post a bunch of them now to get everyone up to date, and then in a short time we will post new prompts to take us out to the new year.

Each prompt is given at the start of each month, no prizes awarded - this is just a wonderful prompt to give you a new direction to explore. :D

Oh, the dimensions of the cards are 5x7 (kind of jumbo ATCs) or Texas sized playing cards. I believe that a few people printed them and stuck them on existing cards to make their own deck, but the sky is the limit!

It would be great if you used products from Deviant Scrap (we have fantastic products in store) but since it's not a competition, use what you'd like. We'd love to see you post them in the gallery and link us up to each prompt :D

I bought this book before Evelyn ever started these prompts - these "Transformation Deck" challenges.

Sheri's book is about taking the prompts, letting them swirl around in your mind then taking whatever tickles your creative soul, you begin to put it down onto a piece of art. Through this whole process, you create the power of intention in your life to clarify your dreams and then attract avenues to realize what is stirring in your heart.

I'm glad we're starting these here - I can get caught back up...

Off to play!

Oh Edeena, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

I am super excited that the Transformation Deck challenge has found it's way here and won't just fade away.

The challenge has a small but dedicated little following and I know those already playing will be thrilled to see the challenge is over here.

AND I cannot wait to see work from new players. I know the talent over here will do something special with this challenge!

That's great that the previous months prompts are here to give everyone a chance to chatch up. It'll be interesting to see all the cards at the end of the series!

Thank you again Edeena.

I will get working on the Augut prompt and try and get it up tonight or tomorrow morning.

lHugs,

Karen

hi Patty Anne,

I found the quote above so inspirational. I thnk it's partially related to your use of the words "tickles your creative soul". Too often these challenges feel heavy - you know, dig deep into the dark corners of your mind and heart ...". ugh.

I love to learn through joy, much better than through pain. Thanks for sharing this little paragraph. I will post the one I made much earlier this year and see what tickles me for this month, December 2010.
